what i found interesting...

#3
I found the first part of Chapter 4 on the “Group Communication” book an interesting topic that was discussed because it goes over the need for effective communication in organizations. The author stated that, “Perhaps you belong to religious organizations, political organizations, civic organizations, fraternal organizations, and/or business organizations.” I found it interesting because there are so many different types of organizations that exist today, and there are probably more that was not mentioned. I am currently part of a sorority, and I found this very interesting for me to read because I got to learn how all of these organizations communicate with each other.

  1. Yes, it is really interesting how all the fraternities and sororities communicate with each other to plan all the events and other activities. Since I am not part of the sorority community, I wonder how difficult it may be to organized all the events and gatherings going on in the Greek world. There must be some really talented people that all come together at meeting to plan everything. Maybe that is why being in a sorority or fraternity is so highly respected by employees. They must know how much work everyone puts in to organize all the outings and get-togethers.

  2. Yes, I agree with you that group communication is very important in an organization. Why it is important is because there are so many people in an organization that everyone has to be on the same page for the organization to run smoothly. For example, I am in a fraternity. Besides from the brotherhood aspect of the fraternity, there is also the business aspect of it. As a organization on campus, we do a lot of planning for charity, fundraiser events, and many others. That is why we have a lot of members in specific positions to plan these events.
